Do they think stylists are stupid??? Heads up, I can check your elasticity and porosity to diagnose the condition of your hair. Perform a strand test that will identify the last time you had hair color. Examine your ends to determine your last haircut and how often you use curling/flat irons. I'm so good that I can touch your hair and tell you what type of relaxer you've been using and what treatment would correct the type of damage in your hair. In order to get your hair healthy save the lies, your hair tells its own story.

Most Common Stories: Do you have a relaxer? Not in the last six months. Do you color your hair? I have not colored my hair in six months to a year. How often do you flat iron your hair? Once a week. Sorry, a blind man can see that you just relaxed your hair two months ago, put your semi permanent color (known by the general public as a rinse) in your hair on the same day you applied your relaxer to your hair and you flat iron your hair every other day if not every.

Trade Secret: Applying a rinse to your hair the same day that you use relaxer causes it to be more permanent, and if you are using black it will not be so easy to change to a lighter shade. If you want healthy hair, then tell the truth. For the honest client, I'm sure it shows in the health of your hair if not find a new stylist. She might be part of the problem.

Keeping Gray Hair White

You can use over the counter whitening shampoo's but remember to use them when your hair appears yellow, dingy or just not white enough. Don't over use whitening shampoos because the results can be undesirable; blue or violet hair yikes. Be mindful that gray hair can sometimes pick up color from various hair care products.

If you went into a salon to have your hair relaxed and your stylist proceeds to shampoo your gray hair with a mixture of shampoo and peroxide to make the gray hair that turned yellow during the relaxer service white; only for you to see that your dark hair is now a light brownish golden kind of color!! This remedy will not work for your hair.

What do you do? Gray hair that is relaxed should be handled with care. Products that are made specifically to be used on gray hair that has yellowed from relaxing should be used. Milder strength relaxers can be used. Leave the mixtures to the chemist in the laboratory. If all fails seek the services of a professional colorist, like G'Marie and see if anything can be done to correct your color situation. I have been able to render some correction in this situation for both yellow and blue hair.
Blog me if you need me.
